The one thing to understand

Vouch is a safety network for service providers who meet clients in person. Providers on the platform share safety signals about clients with each other: screening outcomes, star ratings from completed visits, and how many visits a client has completed. If you book with one Vouch business, other Vouch businesses that you contact later may see those aggregated signals about you.

What is shared across providers — and how

Screening

When you request a booking, the provider may screen the contact details you supplied: phone-line and fraud-reputation intelligence, email deliverability, and — on the paid tier — searches of public criminal and sex-offender records where state law allows, using the name and details the provider entered. These are informational, non-FCRA searches: possible record matches are shown to the provider with their match basis labeled, and are never an automatic rejection. Where a decision is affected by background-check information, adverse-action rules apply, including a waiting period and notice.

Location data

Location tracking applies to providers during their own visits (it powers their safety check-ins), never to clients. Location trails for finished visits are automatically deleted after 30 days. A provider may share a live tracking link for a single visit with a personal emergency contact; that page stops working when the visit ends.

Employers do not see worker location. An owner's view shows visit events — arrival, check-ins, completion, overdue — never live position or a route. The only time location leaves the worker's phone for another person is a safety escalation: a missed check-in or alarm sends last-known location to the designated emergency contact so someone can act. This is how the system is built, not just how we use it: visit data served to owner accounts contains no coordinates of the worker.

Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS); data is stored encrypted at rest; passwords, check-in PINs, and reset codes are stored as one-way hashes; login and reset endpoints are rate-limited.
